Schools that are members of Regional Cooperative Services are eligible to participate in Technology Specialist Institute. Principals may send a team of teachers and/or instructional lab managers provided the commitment is made for each participant to attend all five days
of training. There is no fee for this training. However, schools are responsible for providing substitutes and substitute pay.
Technology Specialist Institute (TSI) is a two-year program that provides classroom teachers with the skills necessary to use technology as a tool for learning. The objective of this program is to deliver ongoing, sustained, and intensive professional development that will:
TSI sessions are held in the Region 10 computer labs for face-to-face, hands-on instruction. Participants in the Year 1 program attend five sessions scheduled throughout the course of the school year so that training is more readily related to teachers' day-to-day practice. Sessions include training in technology integration and 21st century skills, as well as methodologies to train peers on their home campus. Upon completion of Year 1, graduates are invited to participate in the Year 2 program. A complete Year 1 syllabus is available by clicking here.
