DIVISIONAL DISTRICT CONTACT SERVICE

The Administrative Services Divisional District Contacts (DDC) Service assists in the development of an effective communications network between Region 10 Education Service Center and local school districts within the region. The DDC Service creates a process that provides timely and accurate information to districts in response to questions arising from the day-to-day operation of the district. One of the three Divisional District Contacts (DDCs) will be assigned to each district within the region. DDCs will assist in carrying out the activities of the service.

The Activities of the DDC Include the Following:

  • The DDCs will provide the district a source person via telephone or e-mail to answer questions arising from the day-to-day operation of the school system. Questions may be submitted by telephone contact to the individual DDC, by e-mail contact or, sometimes, by face-to-face contact, as appropriate and available. Questions are not limited and may range across the full spectrum of school-related matters and concerns.
  • The DDC may serve as the initial, secondary or follow-up contact for districts on questions or issues of importance. A school district may use the DDC as the initial contact on a question, employ the DDC as secondary resource person, or use the DDC as a follow-up to questions asked previously or of other sources.
  • The DDC will often serve to channel, redirect, or align questions with appropriate ESC and other resources to provide the most accurate, first hand answers to the district. The DDC will always seek first to secure the answer as quickly as possible, in house, with references to other sources such as the Texas Education Agency, the State Board for Educator Certification, and other agencies and/or associations. The DDC will be responsible for follow-up, as needed, to assure that questions have been answered.
