Dallas County Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program (DCJJAEP)

 

The Dallas County Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program (DCJJAEP) is a cooperative effort between the Dallas County Juvenile Department and Dallas County Independent School Districts. Region 10 ESC serves as fiscal agent, coordinator, and provider of staff development. Dallas County Juvenile Board is responsible for the DCJJAEP and facilitates a school located at 1673 Terre Colony Ct., Dallas, Texas 75212. Transportation is provided to and from the facility by the Dallas County School bus service.

 

The program serves students 10 - 17, who have been expelled from Dallas County School districts under Chapter 37 of the Texas Education Code for serious offenses.

 

DCJJAEP provides educational services for the following expelled students:

 

 

DCJJAEP provides daily instruction and supervision for students placed there. The goals of the program are twofold:

 

  • To provide an effective education program for youth, and
  • To help students achieve behavioral and academic improvement
