  • Create and nurture a school culture that supports learning for all
  • Access national and international authors and researchers
  • Develop instructional leadership and management skills necessary for today's complex educational environment
  • Investigate ways to transform theory into practice for improving student achievement
  • Network with participants from diverse educational settings for exchange and learning about challenges confronting today's leaders
  • Explore ways to expand existing resources and utilize current resources more effectively

Academy Design

Features include seven (7) sessions of professional development devoted to strengthen leadership and management skills. Content will focus on all aspects of campus instructional leadership to improve student achievement. Each session will examine one or more of the Texas Principal Standards, key themes and issues of school administrators.

Participants learn from their peers to examine effective strategies and techniques to address the challenges they face. The cohort based training allows principals to learn from and interact with national authors and researchers on school leadership.

Upon completion of the academy, participants will have earned up to 75 hours of professional development credits.
