Making of Sense of CSCOPE Assessments NEW
Participants will explore the different components of Unit Assessments, including the Appendices, Performance Indicators and rubrics to gain a better understanding of the importance and significance of each.
CSCOPE and STAAR Implementation NEW
This training will help you understand how CSCOPE can help your district prepare for STAAR. Participants will learn how CSCOPE documents are aligned to STAAR and how they should be used by teachers to maximize effectiveness in preparation for the new assessments.
Using Assessments to inform instruction ( 2 part training) NEW
Part I: Session participants will study the CSCOPE Instructional Focus Document while evaluating TAKS data. Participants will gain insight on how to improve instruction and tighten the relationship between instruction and the CSCOPE curriculum. Participants will need item analysis, objective/TEKS/SE summary reports.
Part II: Explore the use of formative assessments to inform teacher planning and instruction, to guide student learning and to target interventions. We will look at various types of formative assessments that are meaningful and lead to more focused teaching and learning with your CSCOPE curriculum.
Purposeful Planning NEW
Teachers will gain a better understanding of the Instructional Improvement Process through hands-on lesson planning using CSCOPE documents. This training can be done as a TOT for lead teachers and department heads.
K-2 CSCOPE Integration NEW
Participants will explore integrating all content areas within the CSCOPE framework. Suggested resources to use to help integrate Science and Social Studies into English Language Arts will also be given.
CSCOPE and Differentiation: from low to high and in-between NEW
In this session, we will examine strategies that will help us differentiate instruction for struggling students, advanced students, and all those in-between.
K-1 Inventories with Appendices NEW
Hands on training using your CSCOPE K-2 appendices to create scoreable questions for inventories. Deconstructing the appendices to write inventory questions will also be addressed.

Participants will be given a "Bag of Strategies" that show how to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students through “responsive” teaching rather than "one-size-fits-all" teaching.

The Instructional Focus Document is your very best friend! The IFD anchors instruction and helps to focus teacher planning time. This session will focus on the components of the IFD and the value of each in planning instruction.
Using Performance Indicators to Boost Student Achievement
This session is designed for administrators and curriculum leaders interested in the implementation of the newly revised Science Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for 2010/2011. The session will provide critical information regarding the effective implementation of the TEKS within the CSCOPE classroom, including the principal's role as instructional leader for science instruction. Participants will examine revised Vertical Alignment Documents and Instructional Focus Documents and learn how to support teachers in implementation.
