
Administrator Feedback for Literacy Program Implementation Audit
This service assists administrators in identifying best practices in the classroom to improve literacy program implementation for Tiers 1, 2, and 3. Depending on district needs, consultants may administer a needs assessment, conduct classroom observations, and review district and campus data for the purpose of improving program implementation throughout the district.
After School Specials NEW
This year Region 10 is piloting a new service to provide quality teacher training without the expense of substitute teachers. Limited funding brings about limitless ideas, and this new program After School Specials will feature two-hour after school workshops combined with before and after components. Based on sound research principles, After School Specials will provide participants with a pre-learning experience before the face-to-face workshop, meaningful content during the workshop, and an extension activity after the session is concluded. This before/during/after concept aligns with NCLB standards for ongoing continuous learning.
Customized Consultations in Language Arts, Dyslexia, and or Library Services
Individual districts or campuses may request a personalized consultation in the area of English Language Arts & Reading, Dyslexia, or Library Services. Consultations might include tailored services, such as assessment of literacy-related needs, planning for future professional development, problem solving, explanation of state initiatives or mandates, or addressing other needs identified by the campus or district. Region 10 Consultants are eager to lend their expertise through the most useful approach possible.
Demonstration Lessons in Reading
Demonstration lessons, complete with a debriefing session, are available upon request for identified campuses in state and federal accountability systems, including TAT (Technical Assistance Team). These lessons, presented by Region 10 consultants, are designed as powerful models of effective reading instruction covering guided reading, shared reading, and whole group instruction. Instructional leaders may request from a predetermined list of research-based lessons for impacting instruction.

District Dyslexia Plan Audit
Dyslexia State Law TEC 38.003, and State Board of Education Rule TAC 74.28 outline procedures for the identification, placement, and instruction of students with dyslexia. This service will help districts to understand the requirements for developing district procedures for dyslexia and/or assist districts in revising protocols that are already in place.
Intervention Plan Consultation
This service assists administrators, coaches, and teachers in improving their Tier 2 and/or Tier 3 intervention instruction and identifying critical needs to include the following: lesson planning, appropriate materials selection, and data-driven decision making.
Literacy Coaching Club NEW
This service provides on-going support for literacy coaches as they work on their campuses in the implementation of Tiers 1, 2, and 3. The Coaching Club will offer book studies, after-school networking sessions, an online professional learning community (PLC), and video conferences on various topics related to literacy coaching. This new service provides a wonderful follow-up to the three-day Literacy Leaders Institute.
Post-Secondary Fair for Students with Dyslexia and Reading Disabilities (Grades 9-12)

Come students, parents, teachers, and administrators to the Region 10 sponsored Post-Secondary Fair for Students with Dyslexia and Reading Disabilities. This all day event will include options for students on selecting a college, university, or technical school. Local and out-of -state representatives will be in attendance to assist students and parents with their post-secondary options questions.
Power Planning Periods NEW
This new service will allow campus administrators to embed professional development into the existing daily schedule. Administrators can choose from a variety of topics to extend teachers’ learning to be conducted within a 45 minute planning period.
