Videoconference Resource Share

Welcome to the Region 10 Videoconference Resource Share Website. This website is designed to allow EdNet10 videoconference network members access to teaching resources as well as post course and instructor needs in a centralized database. Currently there is a videoconference system at every school district in Region 10, so only your imagination limits your options.

Any videoconference sharing resource may be posted on this site. By using the Region 10 Videoconference Resource Share website and your videoconference system, your district or college can afford to offer students more than ever before.

Persons posting resources or needs will:

  • Become the primary contact for that posting
  • Be responsible for entering, updating and deleting their postings
  • Contact other district resources directly to set up shared events
  • Negotiate business, financial and scheduling issues with the other
    participating school district(s).
  • Coordinate scheduling the videoconference event(s) on the Region 10 Calendar of Events.

The database is very simple to use and its use should be self-explanatory.  If you wish to post a class, you will need a Region 10 login and password.  For assistance, please email the Videoconference Scheduling Assistant or call 972-348-1164 with any questions.

Teacher Sharing

Is there a K-12 credit course or college course you would like to offer and cannot locate a teacher? Or, you need more students enrolled for a class to make?  Why not "share" a teacher from another district or college?

Do you have one student or a few that need a course? Finding another school that can offer the course via videoconferencing would benefit for your students as well as other Region 10 districts or colleges.

Here is a typical example of teacher sharing to benefit a Region 10 student:

A graduating senior enrolled in a Region 10 high school at mid-term. The school did not offer American Sign Language, which the senior needed to graduate on the Recommended State of Texas graduation plan. An ASL teacher was located at another Region 10 district via the Region 10 Videoconference Resource Share website. The student enrolls in the class and attends in the distance-learning lab at his or her school and graduates under the recommended plan.

Virtual Field Trips & Other Off-Network Resources

Do want to locate a virtual field trip for your  students or use an off-network resource? Does the provider charge a fee or require a minimum number of participants? Why not post the intended content on the Region 10 Videoconference Resource Share website and see if other Region 10 districts or colleges might have the same needs and be willing to share the cost.

Here is a typical example of sharing a virtual field trip:

A district decides they want to provide their students with a virtual field trip supporting math TEKS. They identify and contact a provider and find that the cost is $120 for a session plus $75 for the EdNet10 ISDN charge. They also understand that the provider will allow three sites connected in a session. They post the virtual field trip on the Videoconference Resource Share website and get two additional sites to share the content and costs. The cost per site is lowered to $65 each and more students can benefit from the activity.
