A graduating senior enrolled in a Region 10 high school at mid-term. The school did not offer American Sign Language, which the senior needed to graduate on the Recommended State of Texas graduation plan. Do want to locate a virtual field trip for your students or use an off-network resource? Does the provider charge a fee or require a minimum number of participants? Why not post the intended content on the Region 10 Videoconference Resource Share website and see if other Region 10 districts or colleges might have the same needs and be willing to share the cost.
A district decides they want to provide their students with a virtual field trip supporting math TEKS. They identify and contact a provider and find that the cost is $120 for a session plus $75 for the EdNet10 ISDN charge. They also understand that the provider will allow three sites connected in a session. They post the virtual field trip on the Videoconference Resource Share website and get two additional sites to share the content and costs. The cost per site is lowered to $65 each and more students can benefit from the activity.
