Title 1 Migrant Education

The Title1 Migrant Education Program (MEP) supports the state and local programs that meet the special educational needs of the migratory children of farm workers (including migratory daily workers and fisherman as identified in the district). Migrant funded district are trained in the seven areas of focus: Coordination of Migrant Services (all levels), Identification and Recruitment (ages 3-21), New Generation System (NGS) for migrant student record transfer, Credit Exchange and Accrual (grades (7-12) and Parental Involvement (all levels).

School Districts are divided into four categories:

 

  • Non-Project District with no Identified Migrant Students
  • Non-Project District with Identified Migrant Students
  • Project District
  • Shared Services Arrangement (SSA)
