Wellness is recognized as a significant contributor to each child's ability to thrive and develop. Accordingly, health screenings evaluate the child's overall health status. Regular health check-ups and good practices in oral health, hygiene, nutrition, personal care and safety are incorporated in the program.  Nutrition is also an integral part of the Early Head Start program, including analysis of initial screenings, individual health education, and health referrals when necessary.  Each student should have a dental and medical home. If they do not, our staff will assist with referrals. Regularly scheduled exams should occur. Reminders will be provided to parents/guardians as necessary. (Exams are required for Early Head Start participation.)
