After School Specials NEW  (See Campus Based list)

These professional learning opportunities have been specially designed to meet the needs of your teachers' busy schedules. These two-hour face-to-face sessions will be combined with a pre and post online learning experience.

 

Data Disaggregation and Intervention Planning For Science Instruction

This service assists administrators, coaches, and teachers in improving their intervention plans and identifying critical needs to include lesson planning, appropriate materials selection and data-driven decision making.

 

Demonstration Lessons in Science

Demonstration lessons, complete with a debriefing session, are available upon request for identified campuses in state and federal accountability systems including TAT. These lessons, presented by Region 10 consultants, are designed as powerful models of best practices in science instruction. Instructional leaders may request from a predetermined list of research based lessons for impacting instruction.

 

Facilitated and Focused Review of Science Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment NEW

Region 10 science consultants will work with teacher groups and/or administrators to make adjustments to existing curriculum, instruction and assessments to align with the new STAAR requirements.

 

Listserv for Science Educators

The Science Team at Region 10 has a listserv! The purpose of the listserv is to disseminate information to educators in Science about upcoming events and opportunities as well as to provide current information and updates. Access the link to join the Science listserv at www.region10.org/science

 

Power Hour NEW  (See Campus Based list)

This service is designed to take place during conference periods/PLC time and offers teachers a face-to-face mini-workshop. Many of our most popular titles can be modified to fit this innovative format.

 

Texas Regional Science Collaborative

The Region 10 Texas Regional Collaborative for Excellence in Science Teaching is designed to focus on high quality, sustained and high intensity professional development focused on the education of Science teachers. In addition, there is a focus on upgrading teachers' knowledge and skills through activities that are founded on scientifically based research and aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills for Science and No Child Left Behind guidelines.
