Experience

TPC was among the first alternative certification entities in Texas. Since 1992, we have been building relationships with schools/districts and assisting with their staffing needs. We have certified more than 7,000 teachers, many of whom now serve as administrators in the region.

Our reputation as a well established, reputable, and successful program is the reason that administrators and personnel directors regularly encourage individuals they want to hire to certify through our program.

Region 10 serves 80 school districts and numerous private and charter schools in Texas. We have a positive rapport with these schools and districts; they hire and support many Region 10 interns each year.

Support

Our program is part of the Region 10 Educational Service Center. We are committed to providing you with personal service. Our support begins at the application level and continues through your internship.

Consultants, coordinators and office staff form a coordinated community of support to assist participants with needs related to program/state requirements, tests, training, internship and other certification-related areas.

Preparation includes face-to-face and online reviews for TExES/PACT exams, practice tests, and materials that may be checked out.

TPC partners with schools to furnish ongoing support throughout your internship year providing: campus mentors, onsite visits by experienced consultants with years of classroom experience, and collaboration with campus administrators.

Our program stays current on the latest mandates and serves as an information source to participants even after they are certified.

Coursework

TPC is committed to using best practice principles and research-based curriculum in our coursework.  This means our face-to-face classes are limited in size and the presentations are interactive and engaging.

Our presenters, who are master teachers and/or specialists in their field, model effective teaching strategies and provide hands-on activities.

We provide a blend of face-to-face and online coursework. To accommodate the needs of working professionals and individuals with busy schedules, we offer evening courses along with some day and Saturday courses.

Affordability

Our goal is to keep fees reasonable for both the candidacy and internship phases of the program. Some certification programs advertise low, upfront costs, but charge larger fees later in their program.

Our bottom line is providing quality coursework including books and resources, test preparation, superb presenters, dedicated staff, and ongoing support. TPC fees support the program, as opposed to profit margins and marketing costs.

Staff

All TPC consultants and coordinators hold graduate degrees, are experienced educators, and are knowledgeable in the certification area(s) we support.

Our mission is to produce effective, dedicated teachers who positively shape the future of Texas students.

We are dedicated to supporting and encouraging you as we accompany you on your path to becoming a teacher.

We have a very low dropout rate with over 90% of our candidates continuing the TPC Program. In addition, individuals who complete the program consistently score well above the state average on state exams.
