Professional Educator Preparation (PrEP) Program


Region 10 is dedicated to the development of quality professionals who serve as school counselors and educational diagnosticians. These professional programs are designed for experienced teachers who have achieved advanced degrees and want to expand their educational career. Upon acceptance into either program, candidates are responsible for attaining internship positions as school counselors or educational diagnosticians.

Program Requirements

Completed Application
Transcripts including Master’s Degree

Documentation of alternative certification coursework,

    when applicable
Service Record (minimum 3 years teaching experience)
Valid Teacher Certificate

Acknowledgement from District Hiring Official
Interview with Region 10 Staff


Program and Schedule

Summer Cohort with intense course work June and July
Saturday Roundtables during Internship
Required Candidate Observations

$50 Application Fee, non-refundable (with application)
$1000 Registration Fee, non-refundable, effective Fall '10

    (to begin courses)
$4000 Internship Fee (monthly payroll deduction)
Additional fees for Certification(s)/Exam(s)
Additional fee for non-Region 10 participants: $300-$500

Fall or Spring cohort with weekly night classes and

    continued coursework in June and July
Summer Cohort with intense summer coursework
Friday Roundtables and required workshops

    during Internship
Special Education Certification
