Welcome to Academic Vocabulary
To support the highest academic success for each student and to ensure that all students have solid academic background knowledge, Region 10 has produced an easily accessible Academic Vocabulary tool for use in the classroom.
There are approximately thirty essential vocabulary words for each content area by grade level. In addition, each vocabulary word is a link to a definition, a graphic, or an example, with item numbers for assessment questions which are housed in WebCCAT. Teachers can facilitate instruction by using the tools to easily organize vocabulary words by grading period.
First-time users of Academic Vocabulary should click on the "Create an Account" link in the upper right corner of this page to create an Academic Vocabulary (R10) account and password. (If you already have an R10 account, please do not create another account; login instead using the instructions below. If you are not sure if you have a R10 account, please contact our helpdesk at 972-348-1234.
Returning users to Academic Vocabulary should click on the "R10 Login" link above. This will open the R10 Login page to allow you to login with your appropriate email address and password login information. After you login on the R10 Login page, go to the "District/Campus Tools" section on the login page and click the "Academic Vocabulary" link to enter the program. (You must be logged in before you can access this program).
