ADMINISTRATIVE LEADERSHIP TRAINING (ALT) COOPERATIVE

Administrative Leadership Training is an ongoing requirement for administrators as part of their professional growth-driven continuing education. Region 10 ESC, as a TEA approved sponsor for these trainings, has initiated a cooperative of Region 10 districts to (1) identify needed training and (2) schedule, communicate and deliver needed training. These training opportunities meet the professional growth needs of the wide variety of local administrators, including many of those that may be contained in professional growth plans developed under the requirements of TEC § 21.054. Continuing Education. Training content will focus on the competencies listed in 19 TAC § 241. Principal Certificate and in 19 TAC § 242. Superintendent Certificate, and identified major functions of a school district central office.

TRAINING STRUCTURE

The collective resources of participating districts and charter schools permit the scheduling of a number of local/regional/state/national speakers. These speakers, with far-ranging reputations and proven practical abilities are compiled into the training format for the cooperative. Sessions are generally offered one time and will include sessions of general interest to a variety of administrative functions and sessions specific to certain job-roles. Sessions will provide unlimited access to ALL listed and named administrator members of the ALT Cooperative. Administrator members are generally perceived to be central office and campus level administrators, although a district or charter school may, in negotiation with the Division of Administration, expand the definition of an "administrator" and, therefore, impact the planning, content and delivery of the training.

MEMBERSHIP STRUCTURE

Individual Memberships are available to named and identified administrative personnel from the region. Membership for individual administrators provides unlimited access for those named individuals to training sessions offered during the year. All ALT sessions are developed with the educational administrator in mind. Content is driven by the competencies and proficiencies delineated by the State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) rules for principals and superintendents and identified major

central office functions.

ADMINISTRATIVE LEADERSHIP TRAINING (ALT) COOPERATIVE PART 2

ALT-Part 2 provides school districts the opportunity to host training specifically designed to meet the needs of their administrators.  Divison of Administration personnel will work with the district to design and deliver the desired training.  Walkthroughs for Instructional Focus and Using PDAS to Support Rigorous Classroom Instruction are examples of customized training previously delivered.
