ADVANCED ACADEMICS TRAINING COMPONENTS:

  • Gifted Update Training
    • Provide Gifted Education Teacher Updates
      • Clustered geographically
      • Required 6 hour training
      • Face to face/on-line by fall 2008
      • Two hour update segments available via video-conference by spring 2008

    • Provide Gifted Education Training Required for Counselors
      • Clustered geographically
      • Three times a year, fall, spring and summer

    • Provide Gifted Education Training Required for Administrators
      • Clustered geographically
      • Two times a year, fall and spring

    • Conduct Gifted Leadership Meetings
      • Clustered geographically
      • Three times a year September, December and May

  • Gifted Speakers Bureau
    • Research well-known Regional or National Experts that support current research and appropriate strategies for gifted populations
    • Provide minimum of two in the fall (north and south) and two in the spring (north and south)

  • PreAP/AP/IB Gifted Education Training
    • Develop cadre of distinguished district teachers for training in the summer
    • Provide content specific updates focusing on differentiation clustered geographically

  • Project Based Learning
    • Develop awareness sessions for Project Based Learning (six hours)
    • Networking/problem solving discussion to decide if this learning strategy is appropriate

  • Student four-year plans
    • Assist with development of 4-year or abbreviated time plans for advanced students
    • Provide technical assistance in accessing resources and courses to implement individual plans

  • Dual Credit / Early College
    • Assist districts in collaborative efforts to build cadres of students for specific courses
    • Provide services to match students with desired college courses
    • Provide training sessions (face–to-face, online and by video-conferencing) on what it takes to be successful in a college course

  • PreK-16 Alignment
    • Provide sessions for districts and universities in alignment issues
    • Conduct awareness session for tools and resources for choosing and planning for college requirements

FROM 1000-1400 = $1000.00
FROM 1401-1999 = $1500.00
FROM 2000-2399 = $2000.00
FROM 2400-4999 = $2500.00
FROM 5000-9999 = $3000.00
From 10,000-Up = $5000.00



Gifted Thirty-Hour Required Training (Modules 1-5) will be provided face-to-face at district or county cluster request. Fee - $50.00 per participant per module.
