Help for Troubled Teens and Families.  An internet clearinghouse of resources, information, and support to help a troubled teen and heal the family.  State directory of family help, hotlines and helplines, teen and family issues.

 

Early Literacy

 A compilation of research, strategies, and resources for teachers and parents.  The Early Literacy Project is part of the Telus Learning Connection Project Centre and started as a dream of two teachers. Initial work on this web site began January, 1999, with the input of early literacy resources (poems, raps, chants, fingerplays, rhymes) and subsequent additions of strategies, research, and classroom implications.

 

Early Childhood and Parent Collaborative

The Early Childhood and Parenting (ECAP) Collaborative, is a collection of projects that focus on educating and raising young children. ECAP hosts research, technical assistance, and service projects.  It is from the University of Illinois.

The Community Council of Greater Dallas is a planning and resource coordinating agency concerned with the health, social, recreational, and educational needs of residents in the Greater Dallas metropolitan area.

 

Collin County Children's Advocacy Center

CCCAC is a child-centered setting where children, victimized by abuse, can come to tell their story. Professionals from Child Protective Services, law enforcement, medical and therapy providers, and the District Attorney's office work together, under one roof, to effectively resolve child abuse cases. 

 

Dallas Children's Advocacy Center

The Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center (DCAC) is a nonprofit public / private collaboration that provides a coordinated, multi-agency approach to the investigation, intervention, and treatment of child sexual and physical abuse. Located in a restored, child-friendly Victorian house, DCAC provides a non-threatening, non-institutional secure, child-friendly environment for the children and families we serve.Also see Children's Advocacy Centers of Texas, a statewide association that promotes the efforts of local CACs in the state of Texas.

Sibling Support Project

The Sibling Support Project, believing that disabilities, illness, and mental health issues affect the lives of all family members, seeks to increase the peer support and information opportunities for brothers and sisters of people with special needs and to increase parents' and providers' understanding of sibling issues. This is accomplished by training local service providers on how to create community-based peer support programs for young siblings; hosting workshops, listservs, and websites for young and adult siblings; and increasing parents' and providers' awareness of siblings' unique, life-long, and ever changing concerns through workshops, websites, and written materials.
