Applicant Information

Welcome to the application process. This process includes submission of documents and completion of an online application. You will need your official college transcripts for both bachelor's and master's degrees, a notarized affidavit, three professional references, your three most recent PDAS evaluations, a copy of your service record, a copy of your TEA certificates, and a nomination form signed by the special education director (diagnosticians) and or an acknowledgment form signed by a director of counseling or HR (counselors).

 

 

College Degrees

A bachelor's degree and a master's degree from an accredited university. Individuals who hold a degree from a country outside of the U.S. must submit a Foreign Transcript Evaluation. (See Foreign Transcript Information below)

 

Summative Evaluations

Our program requires 3 years of teaching experience. You need to submit your 3 most recent PDAS or district equivalent summative evaluations.

 

Service Records

Secure from your HR department a copy of your service record.  This gives your years of service that you have worked in the district and verifies 3 three years of teaching experience. If you have transferred from other districts, your HR should have a copy.

 

Teacher Certifications

From the TEA website, you will need to print a copy of all your teacher certifications.

 

Nomination/Acknowledgment Form

A nomination form signed by the district Director of Special Education is required for diagnosticians because the director guarantees the loan of district tests.

The acknowledgment form for counselors is a courtesy to district counseling officials of program participation.

Applicants with a university degree obtained outside of the United States must submit the following:

 

Detailed Foreign Evaluation

    Transcripts must be translated and evaluated by an approved TEA Transcript Evaluation Agency prior to submission. The evaluation of your    transcript must verify that your degree is equivalent to a U. S. bachelor's degree or higher to be eligible for acceptance into the TPC program. In addition, a course-by-course analysis with grade equivalence and credit hours must be included. Accepted Foreign Evaluation Agencies

Original Transcript

PrEP must view the original foreign university transcript from which they will make a copy. This document can be brought to the PrEP office at any time before or during your interview.

3 Professional References

For the PrEP program, we need one reference from an administrator, one from a department chair or lead teacher, and one from a school counselor (for school counselors)or diagnostician or other assessment person (for educational diagnosticians). 

Notarized Criminal Affidavit
This form must be signed in the presence of a notary public. The orginial signed document must be submitted to the TPC office.

 

Participants must have access to a computer and printer for participation in the PrEP program.

Online Application


Once you begin the online application, a file will be created within our system. Each time you complete a page of responses and advance to the next screen the information will be saved. If you must close your browser, or are disconnected, the system will save your information.  Simply log back in and continue the process.  The online application will ask you to select a certification area. You want to choose School Counselor or Educational Diagnostician.

 

1.

Create a Region 10 account. This will provide the user name and password needed to login and complete the application. Click The Region 10 Login button to the right, then click the Create an Account link at the left of the screen.

 
 

2.

Complete the online application form, which will be a 1-2 hour process. If you have any difficulty while completing the application, please contact the TPC office at 972-348-1492.

 

3.

Pay the $75 application fee (non-refundable). Payments may be made online by credit card.

 

4.

Print the additional required forms and submit them to Region 10 (Region 10 ESC, TPC Program, 400 E. Spring Valley Rd., Richardson, TX 75081). The directions for printing these forms are provided at the end of the online application process. (The required documents are also linked under Document Submission at the top of this webpage.)

   

 

 

 

Applications are not considered complete until all steps are finished and all required documents have been received in the PrEP office. Once the application is complete, the screening process will begin. This process is generally completed in 2-3 weeks. You will receive notice about an interview at that time.
