Preschool Services - Sub Heading

 

Preschool Program for Children with Disabilities (PPCD)

 

Preschool Services are available to Local Education Agencies (school districts and charter schools) and other community agencies (Early Childhood Intervention (ECI), community preschools) to assist in the development and implementation of services and programs that meet federal, state and local mandates in educating 3, 4, and 5 year olds.

 

Services offered include:

 

  • Professional development in appropriate evaluation techniques, instructional strategies, positive behavior supports, and inclusion opportunities for preschool children with disabilities.
  • Training in developmentally appropriate research-based strategies to support a child’s access to the general education curriculum.
  • Collaborative opportunities for early childhood personnel to network and review current topics, share  promising practices, make connections to community resources, and share information with colleagues.
  • Technical assistance in developing and implementing programs that provides services to children in the least restrictive environment.
