WHAT IS THE CITIZEN BEE?

The Region 10 Metroplex Regional Citizen Bee promotes civic understanding, community pride, and personal responsibility through an academic competition based on political and cultural history, geography, economics and current events. Its goals include increasing awareness of American heritage and the democratic political system. Your students will gain a greater understanding of American Heritage and the American political system, while learning about the issues that currently face our country.

 

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

Two students from any high school in the Region 10/Metroplex area. You may identify an alternate to compete in the event of illness or scheduling conflicts.

 

WHEN IS THE BEE?

Regional Competition: Saturday April 4, 2009 at 9:00 am

Location: Region 10 Spring Valley Site, 400 E. Spring Valley Rd., Richardson, TX

(Collin-Dallas-Ellis Rooms, 1st Floor)

 

STATE COMPETITION

Saturday May 9, 2009 in Austin, TX

HOW TO REGISTER

Register your school for the Region 10 Metroplex Regional Citizen Bee by completing the registration form available below. Click on the link to download the overview page and the registration form. Fax the registration form to 972-348-1149 before March 2, 2009. All study materials are available online at www.citizenbee.org.

 

Upon receipt of the registration form, Law Focused Education will send
one team binder to the Citizen Bee sponsor.
