Online instructional units produced by the Region 10 Education Service Center provide a high-interest, media enriched, interactive instructional design based on specific objectives required on the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills.
Region 10 partners with several vendors to offer discounted pricing for online credit-bearing courses. Currently our partnerships include BYU Independent Study, NovaNet, Educational Options (Blue Ridge International Academy), and Texas Virtual School.
Suggested courses (that are aligned to TEKS/TAKS) include Health, Communication Applications, PE, Economics, Government, and several foreign languages.
Texas Online Preparation for College Admissions Tests (TOPCAT) provides free online SAT and ACT test preparation materials in English and Spanish to Texas middle and high school students, and adults preparing to enroll college for the first time. Many scholarships, grants, and other forms of financial aid are awarded based on a student's scores. By utilizing TOPCAT, every student in Texas has access to test prep tutorials, practice sessions, timed sample tests, a vocabulary builder, and test-taking tips.
