Substitute Teacher Training is a six-hour interactive workshop that provides training in instructional techniques, classroom and behavior management strategies and focuses on the skills needed for a substitute teacher to succeed in the classroom. Participants will learn how to confidently instruct and address situations they may face in the classroom. Although the training does not guarantee a substitute position with any school district, it is an affordable way for participants to gain or improve their substitute teaching skills.

The workshop cost is $80 per person including the Substitute Teacher Handbook and a companion workbook.

This online course is designed for both experienced subsitute teachers and as an extension of six- hour, face-to-face training. The course consists of three modules focusing on preventive, supportive and corrective actions appropriate for implementation by substitute teachers. The information, skills and techniques provided are research-based and taught through online readings, presentations, interactive activities, video clips, check-up quizzes and printable Ready Reference cards. A final assessment assures mastery of key concepts and skills.
