The TaRGET American History project is dedicated to training Texas social studies educators in Teaching and Relating Great Episodes and Topics in American History. Five days of training with professors from the University of North Texas, the University of Texas at Dallas and North Carolina State University will focus on 5 major concepts: Conflict and Change, Democracy, Migration, Innovation, and Reform. Through in-depth study of individuals, documents, and topics TaRGET will help teachers learn to connect major turning points across time.
Use this site to access Virtual American History Trunks created by Region 10 teacher participants. Trunks are packed with primary source materials which will assist in making content connections in American history and provide activity suggestions that will aid in student retention of American history content over their courses of study.
