Route to Internship

Interns complete a one-year teaching assignment as the Teacher-of-Record in the certification area for which accepted. They receive the salary and benefits of a first-year teacher and have all the responsibilities of a classroom teacher. A mentor teacher, campus administrator, and Region 10 TPC Staff member provide assistance and support during the internship.

The first step to seeking an internship is to complete the online job application using the Teacher Job Network. Only apply for jobs in the certification area for which you were accepted and classified "highly qualified."

All Texas public and charter schools qualify for internships. Before interviewing with private schools, verify membership accreditation by logging on to www.Tepsac.org. There you will find the accrediting associations that recognize the private schools. Confirm with your Region 10 consultant the school's accreditation status before accepting a teaching position for an internship
