Agricultural Science & Technology 6-12Individuals applying for Agricultural Science & Technology 6-12 must have at least 24 semester hours, 12 of which are upper-level, in agricultural science coursework.
The cumulative and agricultural science GPA must be at least 2.5.

Bilingual Generalist EC-6 Individuals applying for Bilingual Generalist EC-6 certification must have 24 semester hours: two courses of (6 semester hours) English, mathematics, science, and social studies. Additional subject areas considered include: physical education, health, music, technology applications, and art.
The cumulative and 24-hour GPA must be at least 2.5.
A passing score on the #191 Generalist EC-6 PACT and the #190 Bilingual Target Language Proficiency Test (BTLPT) PACT is required. An exception may be considered for the (BTLPT) upon a specific district request. As soon as receiving your score sheet, submit a copy to the Region 10 Teacher Preparation and Certification Program.

Note: A passing score on the #111 Generalist 4-8 PACT means the teacher is "highly qualified" to teach in grades 4-8. A passing score on the #191 Generalist EC-6 PACT means the teacher is "highly qualified" to teach in grades EC-6.

Health Science Technology 8-12 Individuals applying for Health Science Technology 8-12 must have at least 24 semester hours, 12 of which are upper-level, in health science coursework.
The cumulative and health science GPA must be at least 2.5.
Additional requirements are:
1) current licensure, certification, or registration by a nationally recognized accrediting agency as a health professions practitioner based on a program requiring at least two years of formal education.
2) at least two years, full- time, wage-earning experience utilizing the licensure requirement.
3) submission of the Texas Education Agency Statement of Qualifications for Secondary Career and Technical Certification to Region 10 Teacher Preparation and Certification Program.
4) to review the list of acceptable health professions for the Health Science Technology certification.
Approval for the Health Science Technology 8-12 test will be given upon acceptance into the program.

Languages Other Than English (LOTE) EC-12 Languages Other Than English certifications are: American Sign Language, Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Latin, Russian, Spanish and Vietnamese.
Individuals applying for Languages Other Than English EC-12 must have at least 24 semester hours, 12 of which are upper-level, in the target language coursework.
The cumulative and target language GPA must be at least 2.5.
1) A passing score on the target language PACT is required for the following:
- #184 American Sign Language EC-12 and the Texas Assessment of Sign Communications-American Sign Language (TASC-ASL)
- #610 French EC-12
- #611 German EC-12
- #612 Latin EC-12
- #613 Spanish EC-12

2) A passing score on the target language American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) Oral Proficiency Interview and the Written Proficiency Test are required for the following:

- Vietnamese EC-12
The ACTFL oral and written tests are administered at Region 10 Teacher Preparation and Certification Program.

Trades and Industrial Education 8-12 Individuals applying for the Trades and Industrial Education 8-12 must have at least 24 semester hours, 12 of which are upper-level, in coursework related to the subject taught.
The cumulative and subject GPA must be at least a 2.5.
Additional requirements are:
1) at least three years of full-time, wage-earning experience, within the past eight years, in the approved occupation for which instruction is offered.
2) current licensure, certification, or registration by a state or nationally recognized accrediting agency as a professional practitioner in one or more approved occupations for which instruction is offered.
3) if the licensure, certification, or registration is not based on a recognized test or measurement, then passing the appropriate National Occupational Competency Testing Institute (NOCTI) assessment is required.
4) submission of the Texas Education Agency Statement of Qualifications for Secondary Career and Technical Certification to Region 10 TPC Program.
