What is WebCCAT?
WebCCAT ( Web-Based Comprehensive Curriculum Assessment Tool) provides educators with a repository of more than 33,000 questions mapped to the TEKS that can be used to create online or offline (paper) assessments of student ability in the areas of language arts, math, science and social studies for grades 3-11. Spanish items are currently available for grades 3-5 in language arts and math, and 5th grade science; additional items (both Spanish and English) are added to the item bank at regular intervals.
Conceived as a tool to help inform instruction, WebCCAT enables an educator to select TEKS at the student expectation level and to create a unique assessment to diagnose or benchmark student knowledge on those TEKS. The bank features a wide variety of item types from traditional multiple-choice, short-answer, open-response and performance tasks -- all at various levels of difficulty and thinking complexity.
Educators can use WebCCAT to create assessments by designating a particular Student Expectation (or group of expectations) or can select a particular item type, level of difficulty, or level of thinking to design an assessment. Key words can be used to further narrow searches for assessment items.
Although sophisticated functionally, WebCCAT is designed to work with fairly simple technology. Educators only need access to the web with up-to-date browser and Acrobat Reader versions.
Trainings
Writing Assessment Items using the WebCCAT Authoring Tool:
Curriculum Users will learn how to use the item authoring tool in WebCCAT in order to enter their own district questions.
WebCCAT Silver Training for Educators:
Teachers and staff will learn how to use the product WebCCAT to develop their own benchmark assessments.
WebCCAT Gold Training for Educators:
Teachers and staff will learn how to use the product WebCCAT Gold to develop their own online test for students to take online.
WebCCAT Curriculum Users Training:
Curriculum Users will learn how to use the product WebCCAT to develop district benchmark test.
