Next Steps

 

Districts agree to join the Consortium for seven years for wireless broadband Internet service.  Consortium members will:

  • provide a contact person to support tower permitting process;
  • provide a contact person to support E-rate process;
  • provide a location site plan where service will enter the building;
  • provide contact information for the city and county zoning/permitting departments;
  • provide a technical contact person to assist in planning and installation;
  • identify staff to participate in training and;
  • sign a Letter of Agency every 3 years.

 

The Letter of Agency should be printed on district letterhead stationery, signed by the Superintendent and mailed to:  Gary Bowers, 400 E. Spring Valley Road, Richardson, TX 75081-5144

 

Region 10 agrees to lead the Wireless Internet Consortium to provide a discount for wireless Internet service through the E-rate program based on each district's calculated discount.  Region 10, acting as Consortium Leader, will:

 

  • provide oversight for network operation;
  • provide videoconference and network services;
  • act as fiscal agent;
  • request a Letter of Agency every 3 years;
  • file for Consortium E-rate discounts; and
  • provide training.
