Gordon D. Taylor, Ed. D.
Dr. Taylor has proudly served as a Texas public educator for 35 years. He began his career as a high school History and Government teacher and a coach of multiple sports. Before taking on the superintendency of Valley View ISD in August 2003, Taylor served at the high school and junior levels as both a principal and assistant principal.
He now serves more than 900,000 students across 10 north Texas counties as Executive Director of Region 10 Education Service Center in Richardson, Texas. In that capacity, he manages the provision of education support services to more than 130 ISDs, charters, and private schools.
Taylor earned his Doctorate in Education Administration and Public Administration from the University of North Texas. His dissertation researched the means by which Texas school districts attempt to prevent fraud and embezzlement.
Dr. Taylor is happily married to a retired school librarian and is the proud father of two sons, one who serves as an educator and the other is an arborist. Dr. Taylor is an active member of his church and volunteers with the Boy Scouts of America.
