COVID-19 (Coronavirus) General Information

Region 10 ESC is committed to the health safety of our staff and all our constituencies.  In this unusual situation with the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic, Region 10 will be taking measures to mitigate contributing to the spread of the virus.  While our facilities are closed to the public, Region 10 staff will continue carrying out our mission of Students, Service, Solutions for the schools that depend on us.

This link from our website homepage will have the most up to date information regarding our operations during this time.  Please check for information as often as needed.

Resources and information for superintendents are shared from a second link on the homepage.

Please wash your hands often … it is the best defense according to all the local, state, national, and international health organizations.

Region 10 Facilities Closed

Region 10 facilities are currently closed.  Based on public health data the Center will initiate a multi-week staged reopening to return the staff and visitors to our buildings.  Information regarding the process will be available when the process is initiated.

Training and Professional Development

Region 10 believes schools need professional development opportunities for educators in order to improve instruction in traditional classroom settings, in completely virtual settings, and in blended settings that include various types of at-home instruction.

  • General Professional Development -- The full R10 training/workshop schedule is available now for events throughout the summer and fall.  While in-person events at Region 10 are not yet scheduled, general professional development offerings are scheduled virtually.  View the schedule on the Calendar of Events.

  • At-Home Instruction Support -- To support educators with remote learning the At-Home Instructional Support resources was created in March.  Rather than maintaining this as a separate website, we transitioned most of these instructional supports and resources to our well-established Online Learning Center (OLC) a.k.a. A few resources remain but will also be moved soon.

  • Online Learning Center -- Through the OLC, we will continue developing and sharing resources to support remote and in-person instruction.

  • In-Person On-Site Trainings/Workshops -- Under certain conditions in-person meetings in individual districts or campuses may be scheduled.  The district must provide the protocols it has established to keep individuals safe.  If district protocols are judged by Region 10 to be sufficiently compatible to R10 safety measures in effect for R10 personnel, then an in-person on-site training may be scheduled.

  • To Suggest Training/Workshop Topics -- If you have specific needs or requests, please complete this Region 10 Content Support form and we will be in touch as soon as possible.

Technical Assistance

Region 10 staff is available by phone and email for technical assistance.  In-person technical assistance will follow the same process as described for scheduling in-person on-site trainings.

Additional Cleaning

Region 10 ESC is adding to our normal custodial cleaning practices.

  • Public portions of the facilities have been thoroughly and deeply cleaned and disinfected.
  • When guests return to the Region 10 facilities they will be aware of additional cleaning being done during the day, such as more frequent cleaning of restrooms, door handles, and coffee areas.
  • All tables and chairs in the conference rooms and lobbies will be wiped down each night and between workshops if multiple workshops are held in the same room on the same day (i.e. morning & afternoon).
