- Obtain nomination from the district Superintendent or his/her designee.
- Hold or is eligible for Texas Principal Certification.
- Candidates must have completed a minimum of one year of administrative experience as an Assistant Principal.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn the qualities outlined in the Texas Principal Standards to become a Principal.
Eligibility
Participants are current assistant principals and deans with administrative experience selected by the district superintendent or his/her designee.
Commitment
Each participant commits to actively participating in the Leadership Academy and attending each required session. The total commitment is nine (9) days. The training sessions will be spread out over the entire school term and may be linked to national speakers. The program will begin in August.
