Independent LOL sessions are organized and completed independently throughout the year, without a Region 10 consultant present.
Each small group of educators (2 - 10) will meeting at a chosen location to collaborate and design a lesson based on their experience to take back to their campuses and classrooms. It is an independent, small group study experience.
Process for APPLYING for and CONDUCTING an Independent LOL session:
STEP ONE: Select your team
Create a small team (2 -10) to be a part of the Independent LOL experience. The team may be made up of same subject area or grade level or a cross-curricular team; you decide!
STEP TWO: Select 3 potential locations to visit
View our list of vetted locations to choose the top three spots that work best for your team. Please note: We do our best to guarantee your first choice, but some locations may not be available based on the time of year or particular schedule of the location.
STEP THREE: Select 3 potential dates
Independent LOL sessions may be completed at any time throughout the year, so choose any three dates that work best for your team.

Upon submission, a Region 10 will contact you to confirm your approved location and date
STEP FIVE: Go LOL!
Go as a team to your approved location on the specified date and focus on learning! Be sure and take a team selfie with the location visible in the background as proof of attendance. The photo will be submitted in your Evidence of Learning (see Step Six below).

STEP SIX: Submit Evidence of Learning
After or during your visit, each participating team member must submit an Evidence of Learning form (see button below)
- attach a team selfie on location
- complete reflection questions
- submit a related lesson plan based on what you learned on location
An Region 10 consultant will review submissions for approval or return them to seek clarification or make revisions before awarding 6 hours of credit. (Please allow a week for this process to occur.)
