Preschool Program for Children with Disabilities (PPCD)

Overview

The Preschool Program for Children with Disabilities and Head Start/Early Head Start Team provides the following opportunities for local education agency (district and charter school) staff who provide educational services for children ages birth through five with disabilities.

 

Professional Development and Technical Assistance

  • Early Childhood Outcomes (including State Performance Plan Indicator 7)
  • Transition of students from ECI (Early Childhood Intervention) to LEA (Local Education Agency)
  • Least Restrictive Environment
  • Instructional Strategies
  • Utilization of the Revised Texas Prekindergarten Guidelines
  • Classroom arrangement
  • Accommodations and Modifications
  • Early Childhood Summer Conference (Now4Forever)
  • Pre-K Response to Intervention (P-RTI)
  • Assessment and Evaluation
  • Professional development sessions and workshops provided at various locations, including cluster sites, campuses, regional locations, and on-line
  • Multiple training opportunities on a variety of topics
