Title I, Part A Fiscal Requirements

Title I, Part A is a federally-funded program. There are numerous fiscal responsibilities which must be met to ensure compliance with federal rules and regulations. The Texas Education Agency, or TEA, conducts oversight of all LEAs to monitor all fiscal requirements. Millions of dollars in federal Title I, Part A funds flow from TEA to LEAs. It is the responsibility of all stakeholders to ensure that funds are used to meet the intent and purpose of the program and ensure that fiscal responsibility is a priority.

As noted here, program administrators and business office staff at the central office should work in tandem to understand, implement and document the requirements outlined in this course. The audience, therefore, is both program and business staff with responsibilities for managing Title I, Part A funds.

Knowledge about what is required increases the likelihood that compliance is met.
