Introduction

This online module outlines the Title I, Part A requirements for allocating funds to participating campuses. The Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) provides numerous rules and regulations which LEAs must follow in making decisions about how the LEA reserves Title I, Part A funds and how the remainder of funds are distributed or allocated to participating campuses.

Because these are federal funds, the expectation is that the funds are supplemental to all other state and local funds and that they are used to target the performance of the intended beneficiaries over time. In all instances, LEAs are expected to ensure prudent use of funds at all levels.
