The Public Funds Investment Act (PFIA) governs the investment of government funds in Texas. Under this law, specific parameters are set for Texas districts, requiring them to adopt an investment policy and to designate an investment officer who is required to attend an approved training course. (Board Policy CDA LEGAL)

The investment officer (superintendent and/or the CFO; CDA LOCAL) must attend at least one training session, ten hours in length, within 12 months after attaining their position and must take eight hours of instruction every two years after the initial training session.

Cost is free if your District/Charter Academy elected to purchase the Operations & Certification Services Package.

*If your district is only investing in banks then you only need to take the initial training but no other trainings are required after the initial training.*
