Texas Education Exchange

Overview

Introducing The Exchange

Texas is building for the future by offering The Texas Education Exchange (The Exchange), a statewide data solution that provides PK-12 districts and educators with tools and insights to bolster student success. The Exchange is built on Ed-Fi, a data standard or set of rules that establishes a unified structure for education data.

Leveraging Ed-Fi, The Exchange unites disparate data sources to streamline the data-sharing process and provide actionable insights for educators. With data that works for them, educators can help students succeed.

Led by the Region 4 Education Service Center based in Houston, the statewide collaboration includes four founding members: Region 10 (Dallas), Region 11 (Fort Worth), Region 13 (Austin), and Region 20 (San Antonio). The Exchange successfully launched to all regions and districts across Texas in October 2023.
