Welcome to Reggie’s Robots program. This program is administered through the Digital Learning Solutions team at Region 10 Education Service Center!
Reggie is a VGo Robot that provides an innovative solution for students to participate in the classroom from home or the hospital. Over the years, Reggie has helped students stay connected with their peers and teachers while recovering from injuries, illness, or other factors that prevent them from being in the classroom.
We currently have 23 robots, six purchased in partnership with Children’s Health and the Ruth Cheatham Foundation and two with Garland ISD. Reggie is reserved based on the ‘first come, first serve’ method.
Teachers are trained on ways to incorporate Reggie in the classroom and technical best practices. Students are trained to operate Reggie using either a computer and mouse or an iPad to actively participate in lessons, discussions, and group work.
Reggie allows the student to develop strong teacher and peer relationships, stay socially connected, boost morale, provide tangible health benefits, and receive quality instruction without falling behind on coursework.
