Overview

School nursing & health services are essential to the health and well-being of students, families, and staff. Through the School Nursing and Health Services Department at Region 10, we want to provide school districts with regional nursing and school health support, timely resources so more focus can be directed towards the needs of students and school staff, and professional development opportunities to further school nursing practice.

Support is provided for the following roles within school nursing and health services:

  • School Nurses (RN) – Licensed professionals providing direct student health care and leadership in the education setting

  • LVNs in School Settings – Licensed vocational nurses delivering care under the supervision of an RN

  • Unlicensed Health Office Staff – Individuals assisting with daily health office operations and basic student care

  • Athletic Trainers – Health professionals managing student-athlete care, injury prevention, and emergency response

  • Nurse Leaders/Mentors – Experienced nurses supporting the professional growth and development of school health staff

  • Health Services Administrators – Leaders overseeing health program implementation and managing nursing staff within districts
