Region 10 Education Service Center (ESC) is pleased to announce the selection of Michael Milburn as the new Director of Instructional Support & Student Services.
Milburn brings more than 25 years of experience in public education, including extensive leadership within Region 10 ESC. He has served the organization since 2011 in multiple leadership roles, most recently as Assistant Director of Teaching and Learning.
In his current role, Milburn oversees program implementation and support for Multilingual, Early Childhood, Counselor, MTSS, New Teacher, Instructional Coaches, Digital Media, CTE, GEAR UP, GT, Outdoor Education, and Reading Academy teams.
Throughout his tenure, he has led the development of multi-year curriculum support systems for school districts, created multilingual instructional supports for ESL, Bilingual, and Dual Language programs, and partnered with campuses and district leaders to advance school improvement and accountability outcomes.
Before his time at Region 10 ESC, Milburn served as Secondary Science Coordinator for McKinney ISD and taught in Plano ISD, where he led curriculum development efforts and achieved outstanding student performance results. He holds a Master of Arts in Teaching Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from The University of Texas at Dallas.

Most importantly, his heart for service and unwavering dedication to Region 10’s mission will continue to make a meaningful difference for every district and student we serve.”
As Director of Instructional Support & Student Services, Milburn will lead strategic planning and oversight of programs that directly impact teaching quality, student achievement, and district capacity across the Region 10 ESC service area.
