Today, our first Pre-K Building The Foundations Cohort wrapped up its first year! Today, educators presented how they have applied their learning in the classroom, reflected on the past year, and enjoyed some time playing games! We are so proud of all the hard work they have put in for their young scholars! 👏😁


Today, the Dallas Association of Vocational Adjustment Coordinators (DAVAC) honored several with their end of year awards! Congratulations to these recipients for their outstanding work!

It was a day full of smiles today as 60+ athletes from districts across Region 10 joined us for the first-ever No Limits Games for students with significant disabilities! These students, who are typically unable to participate in traditional Special Olympics activities or other outdoor education experiences, had fun playing games such as basketball, bowling, cornhole, and "fishing". Thank you to everyone who helped make the day a huge success! 😁

Several of our Head Start Staff members, including our ERSA Team, Site Facilitators, and Family Resource Specialists from Crandall, Ennis, Mabank, and Royse City attended the National Head Start Conference in Dallas!

Last night, 16 outstanding educators in our National Board Cohort celebrated their completion of their National Board Certification with the NBCT Pinning Ceremony! Presenting them with their pins were Superintendents and District Leaders from their district! The National Board Certification was designed to develop, retain and recognize accomplished teachers and to generate ongoing improvement in schools nationwide. It is the most respected professional certification available in K-12 education. Congratulations to all on their achievement!

Let's play some Bocce ball! Wolfe City students had a great time this week during their Special Olympics Bocce Ball Tournament! There were plenty of 😁 and high-fives to go around, as Region 10 Adapted PE Specialist Thomas Swinden helped facilitate the fun!





It's a packed house as our Destination ESL flight to McKinney has been having a great day of collaboration and learning!

Yesterday was a morning of fun as GEAR UP students at Byrd Middle School kicked off their "Hats off to Higher Education" day with a GEAR UP Pep Rally for National GEAR UP Week! Students learned more about how the GEAR UP program will aid them in exploring post-secondary options through games and a presentation from Region 10 Site Coordinator Lori Pickett. After learning more about potential options, students wrote down their post-secondary goals! 🎉





Tuesday evening, parents in Kaufman county joined us at Helen Edwards Early Childhood Center for our first-ever Early Childhood Special Education Parent Info Night! Parents got to hear from members of our Special Populations team on reading/writing and math activities, developing motor skills, and brain development while getting to connect with vendors!





Region 10 Airlines is now servicing out of Houston! R10 Consultant Angela Greca got to present to ILTexas in Houston, where she was joined by ILTexas’s Jenny Vo, who was also dressed for the occasion!





Our Denison Head Start scholars are all set for their school year! In Denison, they underwent their screenings and completed their bus safety and evacuation drills!


The future looks bright for 8th graders in Lancaster ISD, who attended the Region 10 Gear Up program kickoff yesterday! Students were entertained and provided entertainment while learning how Gear Up can help meet their post-secondary aspirations. #Classof2027 on the move!


Mabank Head Start packed the building as they welcomed excited parents and students to Central Elementary for the Welcome Event and Parent Orientation!


Check this out! After attending a workshop led by Region 10 Consultant Chandra Shaw, Prosper ISD teacher Laurie Richmond had the idea to pair/share a video clip & text on the game of marbles with her students. Later on, she discovered her students had taken the learning even further by incorporating the game of marbles into their recess play!



The R10 APE team had a fantastic Monday morning providing Vertical Alignment for the New PE TEKS training to a very active group from Life School Charter Schools. Attendees were able to learn about the new updates/vertical alignment to the PE TEKS, modifications for fitnessgram, lesson planning/collaboration with staff, modifying lead up games for all, and preparing for Special Olympic events.



Our Head Start families and their littles are all 😁 with their new backpacks! Today, the Royse City Head Start program hosted its Welcome Event, while the Kemp Head Start program hosted their event yesterday! Families learned about health and wellness, some activities their children are doing in the classroom that they can do at home, and they also voted for their program’s representatives on the Head Start/Early Head Start Parent Policy Council!





We are rolling into our week by collaborating with district Dyslexia Coordinators during the Fall Dyslexia Coordinators’ Roundtable!





Our Lancaster and Duncanville GEAR Up teams came together at Region 10 for a data/metrics training! They reviewed data that will impact the scope of their work as they start their years off in their districts!
