From navigating Special Education to collaborating with fellow OTs, PTs, and school staff — today’s training equipped our newest therapists with the tools to thrive in schools. Here’s to building skills, forging connections, and empowering every student to succeed!

Today, educators came together for powerful training centered on supporting students experiencing homelessness and those in foster care—because every child deserves stability, dignity, and the opportunity to thrive. Guided by the protections of the McKinney-Vento Act, this session illuminated the profound barriers students face when navigating housing insecurity—and how schools can serve as a critical anchor of hope, consistency, and belonging. We are deeply grateful for these educators who are stepping into the role of advocates, allies, and everyday heroes—championing the needs of students who too often remain unseen.

Region 10 ESC Special Populations Team partnered with Plano ISD O&M Specialists and Teachers of Students with Visual Impairments to explore the power of Meta Ray-Ban Smart Glasses—and the results were nothing short of inspiring! From navigating outdoor walkways to completing a high-tech scavenger hunt in bustling stores, these innovative glasses can open up a whole new world of access and independence for students with visual impairments. This is the future of accessibility, and it’s happening now!
