We absolutely LOVED getting to spend this morning with counselors from across Region 10 at today's Counselor Connection in Kemp! In its first year, this was the third meetup for our counselors as we seek to deepen connections and learn together outside of the Region 10 conference center! The Early Childhood team LOVED accompanying early childhood leaders from six area districts as they visited early childhood special education classrooms in Midlothian and Ferris ISD. What a great day of learning new ideas and tips from colleagues to support our youngest learners. Big thank you so Midlothian and Ferris for hosting!


We had an amazing training session focused on diagnostics for SCG Awarded schools, and it was truly inspiring to witness the power of collaboration. It was wonderful to see so many districts come together, sharing their successes and strategies from the Stronger Connections Grant that prioritizes student's non-academic supports.
The energy in the room was palpable as educator's exchanged ideas, celebrated milestones, and committed to continuing the great work they’ve started. We all left feeling motivated and ready to make an even bigger impact for our students. 🙌

Last night, we celebrated the achievements of our newest National Board Certified Teachers with a special pinning ceremony. Surrounded by family, friends, and district leaders, these educators were recognized for reaching one of the highest milestones in education.
Through their dedication and hard work, they have not only earned this prestigious honor but have also grown as educators. They are now ready to inspire their students and communities with an even greater impact. Congratulations to these amazing teachers on this transformative accomplishment!


Our Early Childhood team LOVED getting to visit the Early Childhood Special Education classrooms in Wylie and Garland! During their visit, they were accompanied by early childhood leadership from eight surrounding districts as they learned new ideas and tips from their colleagues in supporting our youngest learners. Please join us in welcoming Janeé Carter as the new Assistant Director of Operations and Certification for Business and Finance! Janeé brings extensive knowledge to Region 10 ESC, having previously served as Superintendent at Lone Oak ISD. In her new role, she will lead initiatives to support school districts and charters in Business, Finance, and Operations services. Additionally, she will oversee the Child Nutrition Grant Cooperative and the Multi-Region Purchasing Cooperative, further enhancing Region 10’s commitment to resource optimization and operational excellence. Her experience in school administration and finance will be invaluable in meeting the operational needs of districts and charters across the region.

Meet Alyssa Woody, a dedicated Head Start teacher with over 20 years of experience, currently working as a Head Start Teacher at Perrin Early Childhood Center for Sherman ISD. Known for her innovative teaching methods, Alyssa has secured over $14,000 in grants for impactful projects like the “Outdoor Learning Center” and curated engaging family events such as the “Night at the Art Museum.” Her passion lies in creating a nurturing environment that fosters growth, joy, and meaningful connections with students and their families.
Alyssa believes that building relationships with families is key to student success. One of her most cherished memories is sharing a holiday meal with a student's grandmother during her first year of teaching—a moment that reinforced the importance of community and connection. Through her work, Alyssa continues to inspire colleagues and spark a love for learning, showing that Head Start is more than a program; it’s a foundation for lifelong success.
As we wrap up Head Start Awareness Month, we would like to give a round of applause to Alyssa and all the incredible educators working in Head Start/Early Head Start programs! Thank you all for your dedication to sparking a joy for learning in our youngest learners! 👏



We can't stop thinking about the Building Thinking Classrooms Conference! With the help of Peter Liljedahl and other tremendous presenters, these teachers problem-solved and brainstormed new ideas to bring back to their classrooms! We are so glad they could all join us for such a wonderful event!





Region 10 was buzzing with connection as educators explored the latest Ed Tech trends and tools during today's Experiencing Ed Tech Conference! The day got started off with a fabulous keynote from Amber Teamann from Crandall ISD, and the energy kept up throughout the day from our DJ, coffee vendor, and breakfast from Prosper ISD! Thank you to everyone who made this an amazing day!




Today was the PERFECT formula for success at the second-ever Region 10 EcosySTEM Exchange! We loved getting to learn and collaborate about all things STEM with these outstanding educators! We would also like to give a BIG congratulations to all of our STEM Cohort members who earned their NISE STEM Certification and white lab coats today! We cannot thank everyone enough for making this such a bubbling success! 🧑🔬





Teachers took a FABULOUS journey today at the Multilingual Expedition TELPAS! They explored the essential role of ELPS in Tier 1 and discovered how to effectively plan & integrate strategies to enhance student success on TELPAS, as well as mapping data to deep navigation on literacy through reading and writing. Thank you to all our adventurers for this amazing trip to knowledge!




We started our week off right with these outstanding curriculum leaders! We enjoyed hosting our TEKS Resource System Fall Convocation, where these leaders learned about new updates, shared their ideas, and collaborated with each other to build out new ideas for instruction! Thank you to all who attended!





A day spent with some of our favorite Principals is a day well spent! We are so glad we could collaborate with these superstars to set goals, create plans, and expand their toolbox!





No mozying 'round here! We saddled up and rode through a day of learning with some of our favorite librarians during today's Go Wild for Libraries: Librarian and Paraprofessional Day of Learning! These librarians lassoed in new ideas for managing their libraries, hosting book fairs, read-alouds, and much more! This day put the yee in our haw, and we loved getting to share it with such great learning partners! 🤠




Can these early childhood educators build it? Yes! They! Can! 👷♀️👷♂️ , our extraordinary 2024 Building The Foundation cohort members started their experience with us with the first meeting of the year by engaging in collaborative hands-on learning. Over this year, these educators will gain so many tools and skills to help their littles build a strong, solid foundation for their educational journeys! We can't wait to showcase all the incredible work they will be doing!





Today, Region 10 Staff members, Superintendents, friends, and family came together to celebrate Dr. Gordon Taylor's 36 years in education as he heads off into retirement! Having served as our Executive Director since 2014, his unwavering dedication to education has helped to provide our districts with new, innovative solutions! We wish him all the best in his next chapter of life! Thank you for everything, Dr. Taylor! 👏


CONGRATULATIONS to the Grand Prairie ISD School Board, our 2024 Outstanding School Board, for being named one of five finalists in the state of Texas for the Texas Association of School Administrators 2024 Outstanding School Board Award! TASA will be recognizing them and announcing the 2024 Outstanding Board Award in San Antonio on September 27! We are so proud to have such an excellent board representing our region! Congratulations! 🥳


It was truly heartwarming to witness the bright smiles of these exceptional special education teachers at the Special Education First-Year Teacher Academy today! These dedicated educators, some in their second and third years of teaching, joined us for the first of two days to prepare for the upcoming school year, engaging in discussions covering crucial topics such as classroom and time management. We eagerly anticipate reuniting with them for Day 2 and extend our best wishes to all these educators for the year ahead!





Today we welcomed our new Head Start teachers with a day full of excitement at our 2024 Professional Development that will make all new teachers have a Glowing Good Start for this upcoming school year! Teachers, Instructional Assistants and floaters who are new to Region 10 Head Start Programs dived into a face-to-face learning experience, discovering the keys to success in fostering appropriate learning, promoting health and implementing research-backed teachings.
